What makes your team, product and purpose so darn special? What will you gain from joining us?
It is such a rare and special opportunity to join as a Product leader on such a formative stage of a company that literally will save lives. It's a great opportunity for an empathetic leader with strong product vision and intuition.

🅰 About Arli

Arli is on a mission to radically change the way people access and experience support for addiction and addictive behaviours. Arli gives people who have problems with alcohol, drugs and certain behaviours, 24/7 access to the tools and community they need to build their confidence, knowledge, strength, and ultimately...the lives they want. As a Lived Experience Platform, Arli connects people who are seeking support, with experts who have already achieved the outcomes they are seeking.

🧱We're searching for our Frank Gehry...is that you?

There have been rare, but spectacular moments in recent history, where the power of art and science have seamlessly come together, and fundamentally changed the human experience. Like architect Frank Gehry, who challenges the limits of both construction and our perceptions of what buildings can be, to create public spaces beyond our wildest imaginations. And designer Jony Ive, who challenged the concept of the ‘personal computer’ and ended up revolutionising personal technology forever.

And maybe, with a bit of time—you. By challenging healthcare as we know it today, and taking peer-led support to new heights...and saving countless lives in the process.

👷About the role

We don’t just need a great creative thinker or a master engineer—we need an architect. Setting an extraordinary vision and challenge what’s possible, but can plan, design and lead the construction.

We need a Product leader that knows how to build something spectacular from the ground up. You carefully consider each detail and step that must come together, while always keeping the end vision in mind. But more than anything, you obsess about the user: how will they interact with this space; how will they be made to feel in this space; and how can you keep building things that improve their life.

Just like Frank, you'll have an exceptional team around you to help bring your masterpiece to life. A Chief Research Scientist who can help you to understand who you're building for and strengthen your concepts; engineers who build your vision; and a leadership team that will support you in every way possible.

We've got the space, we've got the tools and we know exactly who we're building for—now we just need our world-class architect to start building, innovating and continually iterating on a product that will deliver value and human impact.

📝 Key responsibilities of our Head of Product:

1/ Strategy and vision

  • Develop and lead the product vision, strategy and roadmap, to drive our goals and deliver a world-class product (and one that will be changing lives at that 🙌)
  • Work closely with Arli's leadership team on product design innovation, ideation, and overall business growth 🚀
  • Immerse yourself fully into the world of our users. Understand user pain points, user needs and translate these into actionable insights for the broader team 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
  • Define Arli's product principles to create alignment and scale a highly productive product culture 🎓
  • Establish best practice research and data analysis processes to inform product direction (including user and pricing research, usability studies, and data-driven experiments) 📚
  • Drive end-to-end feature development, from launch to maintenance and monitoring 🌱
  • Define and measure key product metrics to track performance against business goals 📈
  • Work proactively to define longer term initiatives in line with the overall product vision and business objectives. Maintain discovery backlog of possible innovations 🌌
  • Act as Arli's Product spokesperson, who can effectively communicate, pitch and sell our product vision to our team, community, advisors, and future investors 🎤

2/ Leadership

  • Work directly with our CEO and other business leaders, to pitch and promote Arli's products with key stakeholders and current/future investors 🗣
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to develop the company vision and strategy💡
  • Lead and execute with a cross-functional product team (including engineers), creating plans and processes that deliver incredible results 💪
  • Establish the priorities for the product and engineering teams to build and ship products that serve the needs of our users and deliver growth to the business 📦
  • Coach and mentor the product and engineering managers, support their career development, and ensure they have everything they need to succeed ✨
  • Identify opportunities for internal and external team growth in line with Arli's business objectives 🧠

🤸 What skills does Frank Gehry (you) have?

  • You are a natural leader who thrives on building and championing high performing products and teams, and is never afraid to roll up their sleeves
  • You are like a multifocal lens with the ability to go super detailed and zoom out to see the bigger picture—always staying focused on what is going to drive the most impact
  • You are a creative collaborator who consistently unites internal and external stakeholders on all stages of product development to assess value, usability and feasibility
  • You are proactive and are constantly looking to identify and deliver product solutions that deliver value for the business and user alike
  • You truly get people and have a passion for unearthing the nuances and complexities that make personas unique—in order to build product that genuinely improves lives
  • You are organised and create clear user stories for features and owning knowledge of the product front-to-back to assist product managers in making clear decisions when required
  • You are adaptable and thrive in ambiguity and an environment of cohesive but rapid change. You think on your feet and can quickly make well-reasoned decisions with limited data
  • You are an engaging story teller who knows how to distill complex ideas into clear concepts that gets everyone excited and onboard with the product vision

❤️ Our values

  • 🤝 People are the priority. Period. | From the goals we set to the way we hire; the products we build, to the way we speak—people are always the priority. We hire extraordinary humans and look way beyond just their capabilities. Our team don't miss appointments or our friend's birthdays—because we're people first and Arliens second.
  • 💎 Clear is kind | We are highly transparent and embrace vulnerability—and see the extraordinary power in both of those things. We value inclusivity, direct communication, candid feedback and high respect for one another.
  • 🙌 Lead with pride | Shame and stigma have no place in addiction—or at Arli. We are proud of the community we support and we sing it loud and proud. We stick to our word and will always do what’s right over what’s easy. We don’t shy away from tough conversations, but we always consider who may be listening.
  • 👂 Listen carefully | We never have all of the answers. We never assume and seek to understand.

✈️ The process (so we BOTH know what good looks like)

How we think about people who will have outsized impact

  • We mostly look at distance travelled when interviewing them over where people have landed (current role).
  • If you didn't win the genetic lottery, if you come from a community where most people are not university educated, you built your career based on merit and hustle, this is impressive. This is the grit we need. It shows that the person can work hard and achieve things when the odds are stacked against them.
  • Last but not least, addiction is a problem that touches every part of society — no matter what gender, racial background, sexual orientation, or religious belief. We are building a team that is just as diverse as the people affected by addiction.
  • If we are incredibly excited by you as a future teammate, we will fast track. If at any stage we decide that there’s not a fit we will let you know straight away.

The process

  • CV: If it's longer than 2 pages long, try again
  • Video introduction: About you!
  • First interview: You interview the founder
  • Second interview: Founder and another Leader will interview you
  • Case study: You present back to the entire team
  • Final culture interview: With someone outside of the business, we trust
